Serendipitous delight

Her grandmother’s dress fit but was deteriorating badly on top. Converting it to a wearable party skirt gave our bride one more way to surprise her grandmother at the wedding.

Originally the bride brought in the dress so we could harvest a little lace for a sentimental touch on the gown we were building her, but when we all saw how well the dress fit her, we realized we couldn’t waste this golden opportunity.

The bride wore the skirt for her reception and delighted her grandmother with stories and photos of the process.
